Bonang Matheba, a South African Icon, has been in the entertainment industry for close to 15 years and during her time in the spotlight, she has set the best image of what it is to be an African superstar.

Bonang started her career as a children’s presenter and after bagging the Live presenter gig, she became a household name. After successfully dabbling in presenting, business and radio it has recently been revealed that she made her first million when she was just 22.

During the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa the bottles were popping, (pop champagne, darling), the queen of everything, Bonang, gifted the President with a bottle (or two) of her finest House of BNG Champagne, which you’ll be able to find in Woolworths Food SA.

Bonang, alongside DJ Tira, AKA and DJ Zinhle were lucky enough to get an IG call from the president himself. Yes, President Cyril Ramaphosa IG called these Zalebs to make sure they had hit the polls yesterday to vote.

BEING BONANG, a 1 Magic reality show, helped her make her mark as a reality star. The past two seasons of Being Bonang have become pop culture phenomenons. The show tracks the life of Bonang Matheba and all the fabulous things she does in her daily life. Rumor has it that she tweeted about shooting the show’s third season.

Before she started her own reality show, her fans had some misconceptions about the star and since the show aired on television, many of these people got to see the starlet’s fun and giving side, actually, her heart. In the second season of Being Bonang we saw her give back, but it was the moment when she hinted that she was looking to get her best friend, Lorna Maseko a publishing deal that melted our hearts.

“Lorna, I’m working on getting her a publishing deal, something that will make her a millionaire, so I can stop paying for everything. I want her to do a cookbook, I want to invest in her book cause I know it will do very well. I want my friends to be millionaires,” she said at the time.

Nothing is too small for the Queen Bee as she is popularly known. She mentioned in an interview that she is now looking forward to having a school or a university in her name in the near future.

“I want to involve a lot of South Africans because I am South African.”
