What Being a Strong Woman Means to Me

With Women’s Month coming up, and girl power one of the most prominent subjects, it is only right to honor the women who make a difference in their communities. It’s about time their input is recognized and acknowledged. Our Business Relationship Manager met up with a few of BLOSS Magazines’ Brand Ambassadors to find out from them what they think it means to be a Strong Woman.

How would you define “strong women”? Is there a secret ingredient to their success?

“She is someone who can build a firm foundation with the stones others have thrown at her. A strong woman loves, walks away, let’s go, tries again and perseveres. A strong woman loves who she is, trusts her instinct, speaks her mind and believes in her ability to be great. Strong women- may we know them, may we raise them, and may we be them.”

Celeste Loubser

“I believe that being a strong woman means to be able to stand up whenever you fall. A strong woman is someone who has a voice and knows how to use it to stand up for herself and those around her. Being strong isn’t always physical, but also emotional.”
Danika Bezuidenhout

“To never let the perception of someone else determine your success.”

Salome Niemann

“I believe to be a strong woman means being able to stand up for yourself, being able to control your emotions, your life and being psychologically stable, in a way that your mind is strong enough to help yourself and others. To stand on what you believe in, live without fear and make your own choices.”
Jabu Wendy

To be a strong woman means to be who you were made to be and not who the world and society wants you to be and to be confident in every aspect of your life.

Carin-Mari van der Linde

“To not allow people to misuse you, to stand up for your rights as a woman, to be equal in society. To be positive when all is negative. To improve your self-confidence more and more every day. To live a life filled with faith, to help others when you’re the one that needs saving. Staying strong during hard times. Being you.”
Abbigail Botha

“Being a strong woman means a lot of things to me. It means, not putting up with a hateful tongue or a negative society. We as women have the capability to change the world. It means building other women up instead of tearing them down. To love with all the love that I have. It means to push through tough times, and come out better, stronger than ever.

I want to know I can cry and show my emotions when I feel like I need to, instead of bottling things up to appear “strong”. Being a strong woman means, giving to others even when I don’t have much to give. Goodwill always come back to you.  Being a strong woman definitely means never ever giving up. Dream big and live life to the fullest.”
Anne-Marie Cloete

To be a strong woman doesn’t mean you are perfect or have never failed in life, but it is the way you carry yourself through this life and how you lift yourself up when you fall. A strong woman stands up for not only herself and her beliefs but for all the woman around her. She cherishes in her sisters’ successes as much as her own. A strong woman is a light in this world.
Kim Grobbelaar

Being a strong woman means to be confident in who you are. Realizing your own strength without competing with the standards of society. To accept that you are unique & embrace every single bit of it. A strong woman is fiercely feminine.

Natasha Kriel

A strong woman is independent, can stand on her own to feet. She knows right from wrong, can stand up for what is right and can defend her beliefs. She can always see the silver lining in each difficult situation she is placed in. She can make other people feel good about themselves.
Melisandi Blomerus

It means unconditional love to everyone around her. No judgment. It means being there for her children and her family. It means never giving up. It means being there and supporting her husband. It means having her own opinion and not hating anyone who thinks different. It means being strong both mentally, spiritually and physically.
Annemie Willers

“It’s up to every woman to carve out her own place in the world and find a path or focus area that works best for her”.
