Nothing is more stressful than breaking out all over your face and you have no idea why. With these tips to avoid in your everyday routine, you can try to beat those breakouts. Skincare Habits You Are Not Doing
1. NOT cleansing twice a day.
Cleansing your skin removes the pollutants and irritants our skin is exposed to. These fractions get on our skin 24/7, even when we sleep.
Cleansing your face in the morning will rid the bacteria that built up during the night as well as prepare your skin for the morning routine. At night you would want to wash off the makeup, dirt, oil, as well as environmental pollutants that build up on your skin during the day.
2. NOT applying sunscreen.
The pollution caused every day has depleted the Earth’s ozone layer. This means that harmful UV rays are entering the atmosphere more harshly. Sunscreen will protect your skin from these harmful UV rays. Skincare Habits You Are Not Doing
It prevents sunburn and lowers the risk of skin cancer. Wearing your sunscreen can also prevent premature ageing as the UV rays break down your collagen which leads to wrinkles and sagging.
3. NOT washing your pillowcases regularly.
Your pillowcases could be one of the reasons your skin is breaking out. Any excess makeup, bacteria or oil builds up on your pillowcase. At night, cleansing your skin has no use of you are going to put your face on a dirty pillowcase. Wash your pillowcases or switch them at least every 3/4 days.
4. NOT separating your face and body towel.
You should always use two different towels for your face and your body. This is not only for harmful bacteria but also simply because of product use.
Any product that you use on your body is harsher. It can clog your pores and even make you break out. Skincare Habits You Are Not Doing
When drying your face with a towel it is important to dab your face dry rather than to rub it. Also, replace your face towel every second to the third day to avoid bacterial build-up.
5. NOT getting enough sleep.
I have mentioned collagen, it gets broken down by UV rays and when collagen is depleted it causes ageing. Collagen causes the skin to become plumper. It is produced while we sleep and will prevent sagging and wrinkles.
Getting enough sleep will also prevent those dark, puffy eyes which are caused by bad blood flow due to a lack of sleep.
6. NOT using a toner.
Toner is your skincare step after cleansing and plenty of people skip this step and go straight to moisturiser. Toning is a very important step in your skincare routine and should not be missed.
Toning will balance the PH level of your skin. An imbalance of your PH level could be why your skin is dry or oily all over or just in certain parts. There are different timers for different skin types and using the right one is also crucial.
Take some time to add these into your routine and make sure your skin gets the cleanliness it deserves. Take care of the little things and the bigger concerns will take care of themselves.
