Shoes That Should and Shouldn’t Be in Your Closet This Summer

Marilyn Monroe said, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.” I can’t agree with her more. This makes me think of putting the right foot forward this summer, but how can you do that if you don’t have the right shoes?

I have picked out shoes that should and shouldn’t be in your closet this summer.

5 pairs that should be in your closet

These thong sandals are from Mr Price for only R90. Sandals are always the way to go as they are very easy to wear and they keep your body and feet cool.

The Shade Raffia Mule from Cotton On (R350) is the perfect choice this summer. It has the typical espadrille look, which is quite cool and has been trending a lot lately. These shoes are perfect for those of us that don’t like shoes that display their toes for everyone to see.

Snake print items have been a trend throughout the whole year. This gorgeous heel from YDE (R700) is on par with our minimalist theme this month. It will compliment any outfit you decide to wear.

If you’re not a heel type of girl, but you want to glam up for the night, I suggest you go for these amazing Blue Strappy Sandal Heels from Zara (R1400). Block heels are extremely comfortable; they balance your weight perfectly compared to stiletto heels.

This pair of sandals suit the floral theme and allow you to sand out with your minimalist outfit also. They are perfect for a typical beach day (and they will go perfectly with the dress from Zaful, which I featured in the magazine, that you can almost download!). The sandals can be purchased from Aldo (R1100).

There are also certain shoes that shouldn’t be in your closet this summer

Gladiators are so 2016 I wouldn’t advise you to have them in your closet this summer. Unless of course, you want to go for the vintage look, then go for it. This sandal can be purchased from Woolworths (R350).

These brogues are extremely gorgeous I have a pair of similar ones. They are perfect for winter as they keep your feet warm which is something you don’t aim to achieve this summer. Allow your toes to breathe. The brogues are from Woolworths for only R450.

“You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet,” said Chritsain Dior.

Whenever shopping for shoes, always pick a pair that compliments you and your mission to achieve greatness.
