Let’s go back to the 20th Century & experience the “glam” of the roadhouse, with their Friday Night Neon Lights, burger & fries combos, window trays and double-thick milkshakes. We say this needs to be a thing again!
There certainly is something about roadhouses and the nostalgia surrounding them. The moment you drive in, it feels like you have driven through a wormhole, back to the ’50s with the flickering of lights (not those of a nightclub but headlights for service, LOL). The anticipation that fills the car for the window grid tray to clip onto your window. For all the super-sized burgers and “slap chips” (true to the essence of their name) to be passed on, and that instant cold & sweet taste of the first sip of double-thick milkshakes is the latest Friday night fad with friends.
Bonus: some roadhouses now offer a movie on their big screens for you to enjoy, combining the drive-in feel with the roadhouse’s smell of freshly fried chips lingering in the air.
Here are a few places to try with Friends on a Friday night when you are feeling ravenous!
