Miss Gauteng Schools 2019 Winners

It was with great pleasure and immense appreciation that we could join the Miss Gauteng Schools platform on the 20th of July 2019 as media partners. We were invited to the very cleverly themed Christmas in July Final that hosted an array of Christmas themed outfits from all the beautiful contestants at The Rockwood Theatre.

Christmas In July

Yolandi Van Dyk Rossouw, the owner and founder of the much-acclaimed Miss Centurion Schools pageant, decided that after 13 years of successfully giving back to the community, it was time for a bigger and better pageant, and with this, Miss Gauteng Schools was born.

Miss Gauteng Schools is a modelling competition that focuses on the youth in the Gauteng area. The competition has three main aims:

  • To provide twenty less fortunate Secondary School scholars with a once in a lifetime opportunity: their own dream dress, designed by an international designer, to wear to their Matric Farewell along with nails, make-up, accessories and photo shoots.
  • To provide twenty less-fortunate Primary School Children with a birthday party of their choice with 5 friends.
  • To crown the most suitable Miss Gauteng Schools in four age categories and to provide a platform and exposure to these models that will enable them to explore and/or pursue a career in modelling.

This glamorous event had a prestige judging panel with the likes of Juanita de Villiers (Actress), John Owens (Former Mr South Africa), Olorato Major (Face of Johnson & Johnson), Marina Prinsloo (Mrs Pretoria Tshwane) and Nelius du Preez (Former Mr Commonwealth South Africa, 1st Runner Up). Not only that, but the show featured a very talented singer, Lezahn van der Merwe, and the MC for the night was YOMA, an up and comping rapper.
