In this blog, I’m going to give you a 5 ingredient recipe for delicious and healthy matcha balls. These Matcha Chocolate Energy Bites are sure to keep you full and give you the sweet pleasure you need.
These balls are made from real food and will provide you with sustained energy. These yummy balls have healthy fiber and fat and the matcha contains healthy caffeine. AND WHO DOESN’T LOVE CHOCOLATE!
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a green supplement powder that originated in Japan. It mostly comes in powder forms and is made from dried tea leaves found in Japan. Matcha powder is very rich in antioxidants. Scientists conduct daily research on Matcha tea and they discovered that matcha can help with brain function as well as liver function. It also has a bit of caffeine in but not nearly as much as coffee.
Matcha Chocolate Energy Bites Ingredients
Unsweetened Almond Milk – You can use any type of dairy-free milk but I prefer Almond Milk.
Dates – Just make sure the dates you will use need to be soft and sticky.
Matcha Powder – Any matcha powder would work here. Choose your favorite
Cocoa Powder – You can either use sweetened or unsweetened.
Raw Almonds – You can replace this with any type of nut you like.
How to make Matcha Chocolate Energy Bites
Step 1 – Add the almonds and dates to a blender or food processor It needs to be a sticky ball so it takes about 5-10 minutes to blend. However, all blenders are different.
Step 2 – Break the stickiness a bit open from the ingredients in the blender the ad all the remaining ingredients: Matcha Powder, Almond Milk, Cocoa Powder, and a pinch of salt. Process all the ingredients again for about 4-6 minutes until it becomes a sticky ball again.
Step 3 – Roll the mixture into small balls and dust a bit of cocoa and matcha powder all over it.
TIP: Make sure your dates are sticky enough and process the ingredients long enough otherwise the balls won’t form and melt.
