The Linden Market

When you get delighted by just the thought of the textures and flavours combined with the added aromas of food, the world fades away and it becomes a pure Foodie’s paradise. Oh, my-oh-my! Markets

Indulge in everything from tacos to the more traditional ‘koeksister’, while unwinding in the tranquillity of a local farmer’s market. Choose from a selection of fresh produce and a plethora of experiences for foodie travellers.

Joburg certainly has your back, with its extensive range of markets. You’ll find markets that cater to both your indoor and outdoor needs without breaking the bank and all pets are welcome.

Here are a few of our favourite vibrant inner-city markets for a great Saturday with laid-back vibes like you never thought possible…

Market on Main

Market on Main

Set in the prestigious Arts on Main complex alongside Galeries and artist studios. This market is a revamped warehouse from the 1900s and offers a variety of treats. This market is a must if you love to experience the inner city rejuvenation that now kind of makes up the DNA of Johannesburg, making it more accessible and exciting than ever before.

From night markets to picnics under the olive trees. Don’t forget the classic Bunny Chows and Snoek on “Roosterbrood”, which will leave a real South-African taste in your mouth.

The cherry on top here is the rooftop bar just like those we have all seen in movies.

The Linden Market’s focus is all about helping and uplifting the community and promoting local vendors without having to go to a shopping centre or the traditional flea market.
