Let’s Talk About Comic Con Africa 2019

Who is as excited as we are for this year’s Comic Con Africa?

Anyone who went to last year’s event will remember the vibe and exciting buzz that was Comic Con Africa 2018. With 42, 000 people attending last year’s event, it’s estimated that a whopping 60, 000 people will be showing up, or should we say – geeking up, for this year’s convention.

This year’s hosts, Reed Exhibitions Africa and ReedPOP, the world’s largest producer of pop culture events, are upping their game and promising us a bigger, twice-as-nice, convention with double the number of exhibition spaces and a bucket load of new and exciting stuff (pun very much intended) as their main sponsor for this year is none other than the king of buckets, KFC.

Another amazing thing about this year’s Comic Con Africa is that they will be hosting an exclusive section for the young ones so no kid is left behind. Enter KidsCon! Jaguar Land Rover came on board as a presenting sponsor for this first-ever kid-focused convention in Africa.

You can expect all of the excitement over 4 days as there are almost 300 exhibitors, a bigger main stage, more international guests (including the OG Captain Kirk, William Shatner), local and international comic book artists, meet and greets, cosplay comps and a brand-new gaming section with tournaments. There is no reason for you not to be there and get your inner geek or fangirl on!

To make sure that you don’t miss a moment you can download the app so you can stay up to date with the happenings of the weekend. It includes the full exhibitors’ list, interactive maps, a selfie camera (duh, because we will be looking like the wonder women we are) and so much more. You will be able to plan your experience from the palm of your hand.

“Comic Con Africa is a multi-genre entertainment and comic convention that features comic books, games, arts, movies, pop culture elements and so much more.”
