It’s Time To Moisture Up Ladies! We are on the third blog that is focused on our new skincare routine, and in this blog, I will focus on steps and products that will assist in keeping your skin lavishly hydrated and moisturised.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s get hydrated with steps 4-6!
My mother always said – “prevention is better than cure.” This statement is very true when it comes to making use of eye cream. You are never too young to introduce an eye cream into your skincare routine. What eye cream does is that targets the fine lines and wrinkles that appear on the softer skin around the eye. I have been using an eye cream for almost 3 years now and it is a product I simply cannot go without. One does however need to ensure that you apply the eye cream daily, to achieve optimal results.
Here are some of my favourite eye cream options:
- Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream – R385.00
- Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Eye Concentrate – R550.00
- BioSeal Marine Collagen Eye Gel – R295.00
- Ren Active 7 Eye Gel – R490
Spot treatment is subject to each individual’s skin type and needs. Should your skin be prone to blemishes, redness, or swelling then you should consider adding a spot treatment to your routine. Please remember that not all products will co-operate well with your skin, so take your time and do your research. You do not want to irritate your skin and cause discomfort for yourself.
Below are some trusted spot treatments that my friends and I personally make use of:
- Ren Clear Calm Non-Drying Spot Treatment – R310.00
- SKOON Spotless Spot Stick – R439.95
- Nimue Problematic Spot Treatment – R271.80
Oh, how I love a good moisturiser! This happens to be my favourite step and the one that I never skip. There is just something super satisfying about applying an amazing moisturiser – it makes your skin feel alive. Your moisturiser’s main function is exactly what it says… adds moisture to your skin and therefore protects your skin. Again with a facial moisturiser like the spot treatment – remember that not everyone’s skin type is the same and that some research will be necessary to find your perfectly matched product.
Here are some of my favourite moisturisers on the market currently:
- Clinique Superdefense SPF 40 – R450.00
- Skin Creamery Everyday Cream – R248
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream – R129.99
You might have noticed by now that many skincare products could be quite pricey. Do not shy away from certain products because they might seem out of your monthly budget. Your moisturiser could last you two months if you correctly and sparingly, this means that you could always save for that perfect product. As mentioned above do some research into the products that you are interested in buying and only then buy the correct products that are well suited for your skin.
So there you have it, once you have found your perfect fit – It’s time to moisture up ladies!
