Female Artists are Killing It in South Africa

In light of the recent news headlines of the countless women who have been victims of abuse at the hands of men, we’ve brought some #celebspiration to show our South African female artists some much-needed love!

Lady Zamar

The lovely Lady Zamar is a singer and songwriter known for her unique incorporation of pop and house music. Her real name is Yamikani Janet Banda, and she was born in the heart of Gauteng, Tembisa. She was initially part of a duet with Junior Taurus and they released their debut album, Cotton Candy, but she knew her aspirations called for a solo career and released her solo album, King Zamar, in early 2017. It took some time, but the album was recently certified double platinum and we have no doubts as to why. Lady Zamar is a powerhouse female artist who is taking the music industry by storm.

She also aims to perform at Coachella in 2020 and all that we can say is, watch this space.
