Joyful and light romance movies, jolly music, fun crafts, decorating of trees, wrapping gifts and food in abundance are just a few delightful activities that the festive season presents to us.
Christmas also just so happens to be my absolute favourite time of the year – I am sure for millions of others as well.
Christmas, however, is more than all the fun. 2020 has definitely been a year that has forced us to re-evaluate and has forced many of us to slow down and look at life from a new vantage point. Bright & Merry Christmas
So Christmas this year might look different for most of us. Families have been separated and many have cut down on the fun festive activities. But just because Christmas is different does not mean that it is not the most wonderful time of the year anymore.
In fact, because things have changed it proves just that. Families have realised what it truly means to have each other and miss each other. We are now encouraged to get rid of all the distractions and spend quality time together.
For those who are separated by distance, give that family member a call or video call them during some family time.
The true importance of Christmas is family. Spending as much quality time together as possible, remembering and appreciating all the blessings you have been gifted with. For me, the family is Gods way of reminding us of the greatest blessing he has given us – Jesus. He grants us glimpses of the love that he has for us through our families. Christmas heightens this reminder for me.
Take the time to reflect and appreciate those that are your nearest and dearest.
May your experience of Christmas be beautiful and memorable, it is, after all, the most wonderful time of the year.
